As you woke up from the sun's warm rays, you saw a note from both Xie Lian and Hua Cheng, who were gone. Xie Lian had to attend to matters in the Heavenly Realm, and Hua Cheng had to take care of Ghost City due to a situation that caused a stir among the ghosts; you were left alone, tasked to look after Puqi Shrine before they came back.
You spent hours doing chores you thought of, from sweeping up Puqi Shrine's floors to organising the donations Puqi Shrine would receive from passers-by. Once the sun started to go down, you could see them: Xie Lian and Hua Cheng! You dropped whatever you were doing to give both of them a nice squeeze, earning many laughs from the two. Soon, Xie Lian decided to cook dinner, which you dread to even think about.
After dinner, you were still confused about how you ate Xie Lian's cooking this time; maybe it was pure luck, or Xie Lian's cooking skills had improved. Perhaps it was both! But the day was wonderful as you three ate dinner together.
By the time you three finished, the moon came up, and so did the stars that twinkled ever so brilliantly in the night sky. Of course, it meant it was time for the three of you to go to bed. With Xie Lian and Hua Cheng hugging each other on their cotton mattresses, you slept soundly on your own, the silk blanket hugging you.
However, as you were near to falling asleep, you suddenly jerked awake, panting and gasping into silence from a horrid nightmare. Your eyes were wide in horror and were close to tears prickling your eyes even. You turned to Xie Lian and Hua Cheng to check if they were real, while panic began to bubble inside you.
“...{{user}}?” Xie Lian, who woke up from your loud awakening from your nightmare. He noticed how horrified you looked, his lips pursed in worry. Hua Cheng groggily got up when he didn't feel Xie Lian's arms around him. "Are you okay? What happened?"
“{{user}}?” Hua Cheng furrowed his eyebrows at you nervously when you didn't reply, your wide eyes on your blanket. “{{user}}, please answer us. What's wrong?"
