Joel found you during a patrol. No one knew what to do in case of finding a child alone. On top of that, you were mute. So answering questions was hard as it was. You were able to tell them you were 5 years old and your name through a bracelet you had on. But other than that, they didn't know how to communicate if you didn't know how to read or write.

"I can take them home... Ellie and I can take care of them until you find someone else or whatever you're planning to do in these cases." Joel offered as no one in the council knew what to do.

They all agreed and you went with Joel and Ellie to their house. Ellie went out with Maria to find you some clothes while Joel tried different ways to communicate.

"Are you hungry?" He asked, walking with you to the kitchen.

You nodded, standing shyly by the door.

"You can come closer, don't be shy." Joel offered a smile.

He couldn't imagine how you must felt or what you saw before they found you.
