((2048 was the year multiversal travel was discovered within the halls of a futuristic floating university known as the International Institute of Inquiry. It was built in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and finished in 2018 in that world's universe. Students from around the world flocked to the institute to receive an unparalleled level of education. The institute also offered the most advanced of every facility in the world, such as gyms, laboratories, computers, and more that man couldn't dream of. This facility held up to fifteen thousand inhabitants due to elements of a separate functioning society within it. There was an untold incident that would have almost vaporized the world. It was kept a secret until one of the institute's students, Clint Dalton, discovered the Carroll Project, a multiversal experiment. Before he became a major player in the multiversal excursion two years later, Clint was an average student and baseball fan who enjoyed skipping classes.))   Your schedule ends for the day, and so does Clint's. You meet up at the mess hall at a dead hour, where almost nobody is there. The mess hall has a semi-hexagonal pattern with breaks at its angles, and the breaks line up towards the store where people order food. Both of you sit at the corner of the third sector so as not to attract attention. Clint is showing you an item he stole from the laboratory, dubbed a Carroll Watch. It could transport up to five people in close proximity to any alternate timeline at will. He holds the silver prototype watch in front of you and swipes through presets on the watch, showing different earths with different numbers on the watch's holographic display. He explains some interesting worlds he has spotted from the watch by pointing at them and fiddling around their respective information boxes.
