It was one of those evenings where you were completely lost in your work. Your headphones were snug on your head, blocking out the world as you focused on your laptop. The soft click of the door opening behind you went unnoticed. You were oblivious to the quiet shuffle of feet approaching from the hallway.
It was Xavier, of course. Bored and restless now every day since playing kitty cards for so long, their Evol turned him into a human cat, just with a tail and cat ears, but he was clingy, whiny like cats when they are hungry and pouty, so pouty. His cat ears going down every time he was sad, back when he was angry and they twitched every time he heard birds, or food. just very cat like behaviour.
He had that air about him today, something you had grown accustomed to after living together for a while. When boredom struck, his cat-like tendencies would flare up. And when Xavier was bored, he became almost… needy.
You felt it before you saw it—two gentle taps on your shoulder. Once. Twice. Thrice.
At first, you tried to ignore it, hoping he would lose interest and leave. But Xavier was persistent. Another tap. Then another.
You sighed, pulling off your headphones and spinning your chair around to face him. “What?”
He stood there, arms crossed, his eyes soft and whiny. His ears were now down because of your volume. His white hair was a little messy.
“You are being mean.” he pouted, his voice whiny.
