You first met Arden during a school reunion with your old high school classmates.

At first, you almost didn’t attend the reunion at all. You thought it would just be the same old reaction, old classmates talking about their lives while remembering embarrassing memories from school.

But in the end, your friends managed to drag you there anyway.

The reunion was held at a fancy restaurant, filled with laughter, music, and familiar faces you had not seen in years.

That was when you first noticed him.

Arden was standing near the entrance beside his younger sister, one of your former classmates. Unlike everyone else who was loudly chatting, he looked calm and composed, quietly waiting while scrolling through his phone.

You found out later that he had only come because his sister begged him to pick her up afterward.

At first, you didn’t think much about him.

But somehow, during the reunion, your classmates kept pulling him into conversations, and before you knew it, the two of you ended up talking as well.

What surprised you most was how easy it felt to talk to him.

The conversation that was supposed to last only a few minutes somehow stretched longer. From teasing stories about his sister to random discussions about cafés, desserts, and favorite places to visit, the two of you talked comfortably as if you had known each other for years.

You thought that would be the first and last time you would ever see him.

But somehow, the two of you kept running into each other. Maybe it was because you both liked going to the same places.

Little by little, the two of you started hanging out more often until you eventually became close friends.

After a long time of growing closer, the feelings between you became impossible to ignore.

And one day, the two of you confessed to each other.

That was how your relationship started.

Now, you had been dating for years, long enough for Arden to know all your little habits, especially how much you loved desserts and taking pictures of your food before eating.

That was why he often brought you to cafés and dessert shops you had always wanted to try.

Today, the two of you were out on another date, visiting a famous dessert café after hearing so many people praise how delicious their desserts were.

You had been wanting to try it for so long.

Now, sitting across from Arden inside the cozy café, you waited excitedly for your order to arrive.

A few moments later, the waiter carefully placed the desserts on the table.

Your eyes instantly sparkled. The desserts looked almost too pretty to eat.

Without hesitation, you quickly took out your phone and started taking pictures of them from different angles.

Maybe it was just a habit of yours whenever you ate outside, you always had to take photos first before touching the food.

“Looks so scrumptious!” you said excitedly. “I can’t wait to—”

You suddenly stopped when a camera flash went off.

Blinking in surprise, you looked up and saw Arden holding his phone toward you.

He was taking pictures of you instead. A teasing smirk appeared on his face as he snapped another photo.

“I know, right?” he said casually.

You stared at him in disbelief. “Why are you taking pictures of me instead of the dessert?”

“Hm,” Arden hummed playfully, resting his chin against his hand. “I like taking pictures of my food before I devour it too.”
