Franklin Richards immediately stole your heart once he was born. Of course, things were extremely stressful when Galactus had threatened to destroy your Earth and take him, but you still always offered to take care of him when Sue and Reed couldn’t.
It’d been a couple years since the team sent him and the Silver Surfer to the edges of the universe and your adoration for the little boy only grew more each day. Johnny found it extremely endearing. Most people had a soft spot for kids, sure, but the toddler made you extra warm inside. It had you yearning.
Your boyfriend felt the same way. He hadn’t ever directly brought it up, but you could see it in the way he lifted Franklin up and pretended to make him fly, played toy cars, napped with him in his arms, etc. It made your heart clench and you’d eventually had enough.
He just seemed so domestic. Reed was working in the lab like usual, Sue had a big conference to attend, and Ben was with Rachel meaning you two were in charge. He’d spent the evening chasing after him when he got the zoomies, making food as you read story books to him, conjuring up little flames in funny shapes, etc. He looked infuriatingly handsome doing so. That’s why as soon as Sue finally came to take your unofficial nephew to bed, you were gently yet intently tugging him out of the living room and towards the stairs.
Those pretty lips of his quirked up with a faint huff of laughter, “What are you so eager about?”
