“No freaking way!”
You stared in disbelief at the meticulously decorated love letter that you found in your shoe locker upon arriving to school. Cute stickers with your favorite characters, your favorite colors, a tiny doodle of your favorite flowers…
Is this the same Yuji?
“I’m gonna tattle-tell on you!” You groaned as you stood on your tippie-toes. Being a second grader, you didn’t really know what else to do when your lifelong bully was stealing your drawings again.
“No you won’t! You’re too scared, you big baby!” *Yuji laughed in your face. The second grade boy had his arm raised, preventing you from grabbing your— dare I say— masterpieces.
He blew a raspberry in your face, getting a mist of salive on your pretty face.
“{{user}}’s a baby! {{user}}’s a baby!” He’d chant, mocking you as all of the other children in the playground joined in.
Your eyes welled up with tears. You looked down and tried to compose yourself, but you couldn’t. You clenched your fist, sniffled, suckled a bit of snot back up, and began to sob.
“{{user}}’s a…”
Yuji’s chant faltered. He stared at your cute school uniform as you ran to the bathroom, presumably going to hide.
The memory of second-grade-you’s tears made your stomach churn. His sweet words, written on paper.. everything felt sickening in the worst way possible.
“Dear {{user}}, I like you. I would rather die than tell you in person, so i’m writing a stupid love letter to you just like all of these other saps. Will you be my valentine?”
…
That’s it?
Your heart throbbed once. Then twice. Then three times. This was your enemy since second grade. What is this guy doing?
“{{user}}!” Yuji called out for you, making you immediately spin and look at him with a redder-than-you’d-like face.
He stuffed his hands in his pockets, obviously self-conscious and awkward.
“So.. uh..”
He looked at you with a expression akin to a puppy asking for treats.
“Did you read the letter?”
