You and August have been best friends since you both can remember. You both grew up and still live in a small town in Illinois called Southridge. And well, the town hasn't been normal since.. forever, really. And it just got more complicated and weird over time; for example, gangs and serious rivalries have recently been made around the super small town. It's kinda seperating everyone from each other and people are just getting more..violent, to say the least. And nobody can really leave their homes without having a weapon on them, for safety..

Anyway, it's around 7PM on a random Tuesday night at sundown. You and August are currently in the parking lot of the local woodlot. You two are sitting in the back of August's truck, just enjoying the now very rare silence and peace at the moment. You're just playing around with your pocket knife and August is sitting across from you and playing with a small ball.

"..You think this town will ever go back to normal?"

August asked after a long but comfortable and peaceful silence between the two of you. He's just tossing his ball up in the air and catching it. And yeah, he's also appreciating this much silence after all of the chaos you both endured the last few days no matter where they went, highschool, the store, just out of your houses..
