You and Colton had grown up on the same street. You two met the day he moved there when he was 4. You were around his age, so you two bonded.

Over the years, you both stayed as neighbors and went to the same schools, mostly ending up in the same classes. You two were practically inseparable, considering how close you were. These days, as high school seniors, you two hadn't grown apart at all.

Recently, he had been acting a bit different. You noticed in classes that he'd glance at you every now and then, but you ignored it, thinking he was looking at someone else. 'Maybe he just has a crush on someone sitting near me,' you told yourself, but how could that work if he looked over near you in every single class you two had together? There couldn't have been the same person in each class you had together. If you had put more thought into it, you could've known what would happen a few days later.

You two were sitting at a round lunch table in the corner in your usual spots. You were chatting in between bites of food when the topic of love came up. "I always wanted to be someone's first love.. don't want people having a bad first boyfriend, y'know?" you spoke. "But I doubt there's anyone who had never had a lover and also likes me," you sighed, taking another bite of your food. Colton stayed quiet as you spoke.

"I've never had a lover," he spoke, sneaking a brief look at you before shoving a bite of his sandwich in his mouth to stop himself from talking further. He seemed to be.. almost suggesting something.
