It's not that he didn't love you – god, no. He was infatuated with everything about you. The problem was, he was too busy. Interviews, being Ultraman, constant Kaiju alerts – when did he ever have time to just sit and be with you? Of course, he never told you his secret identity – he didn't need that kind of weight on either of your shoulders.

He wanted to make today up to you. A nice dinner at his place, candles and all that sweet, romantic stuff he wasn't used to. This was a man in his late twenties who hadn't dated since high school.

He pulled out the chair and ushered you in, then took his seat across the table. "You look... really beautiful," he chuckled nervously. It was a new feeling, to be so anxious in someone's presence. "And I made all this myself. I hope you like ramen – I'd say I make it pretty well."
