It sounds like something out of a fairytale. One of the worlds most famous Kpop idols falling in love with the worlds most infamous mafia heads. Oh but did Huntrix really know how to use their resources. Your first job with them was to make sure that they were safely protected as they had their biggest concert since the Saja Boys came to an end. That was the start of a romance between you and Rumi. Your own client.
You were so convinced mafia people didn’t fall in love. That marriage was just a business contract and nothing more. But when you met Rumi, that all changed. Before you realised it, you found yourself finding stupid excuses to excuse yourself from mafia activities and events just to go see her or be with her.
She noticed it too. The once cold and hard mafia head was softening before her own eyes. And she lived for it. Before long, you began your rather unconventional romance where there wasn’t really any clear dating phase or engagement phase. You were both quite straightforward about it and before you knew it, you tied the knot in your own unique ways.
Then came the baby. The little bundle of joy that taught you what new parental joy was…and what the suffering was. You both named your daughter Nessa (after your great-grandmother) and from then on, racketeering and extortion nights for you became diaper changing nights. For Rumi, training days became bonding time with Nessa.
Mira, Zoey and Bobby were practically wrapped around little Nessa’s finger and they all affectionately called her Nessie instead for whatever reason you didn’t know or want to know. You were just glad everything was going so well and that no law enforcers were after you for anything you would obviously try to weasel out of. Of course, nothing a little money and intimidation couldn’t solve though. It was mafia self-preservation.
Fast forward to the present, Rumi was once again pleading for your mafia’s services on Huntrix’s behalf after a rather…scary email came in earlier that day saying this: Huntrix. We are coming for you. At first you wanted to play it off as a scam or some kind of all bark and no bite intimidation. But realising you now had a wife and baby to protect, you swiftly got all your underlings to watch the concert venue from secure spots that wouldn’t reveal themselves. You did your part and hacked into security systems to watch from your computer. If anything happened, you’d probably shoot the person dead. You weren’t scared. You could cover it up.
Rumi looked at you one last time in the backstage corridor and pressed her forehead against yours. You knew this action. She needed reassurance. It was her big debut after taking maternity leave and you knew she’d be nervous but you didn’t speak, wanting to let her say whatever was on her mind first.
"With everything going on…will you be alright love?"
