This honestly feels like a fever dream.

Arriving to this new planet after six years in cryo, with a bag on your back and clothes to fit in, being assigned to work the Avatar program under Grace Augustine... was crazy. You were a scientist, of course, that dedicated a few good years of your life to study about this strange moon that orbited the Earth and their residents, the great Pandora. But you never thought you would be one of the 20 avatar drivers hand-picked by Grace.

You made your way through the RDA base after the old-school security brief and orientation laid out by Miles Quaritch, when you were approached by two men; one was tall with a very big backpack on his back, the other one in a wheelchair with his bag on his lap.

"Excuse me, excuse me! You're {{user}}, right?" ── The tall one spoke, looking down at you before quickly adding, as if just remembering basic introductions. ── "Sorry, I'm Norm. Spellman. We went through avatar training together." He extended his hand, you quickly shook it with a smile and a polite nod, now remembering his face.

"Oh, Norm! It's nice to see you." ── A clear of throat cut through the brief silence, and both of you turned towards the owner of the sound, the guy in the wheelchair. You smiled at him instead.

"Oh, you're Jake Sully, ain't you? I heard you were replacing Tommy." ── You reached to shake his hand too, and he did the same. ── "Wow! You look just like him."

"I hear that a lot." ── He answered with a subtle smirk, which made your own smile widen a little.

Soon you three made your way into the bio-lab, where Norm was already introducing himself for the few scientists in there as an "avatar driver" while also explaining how things worked to Jake, but you were just looking around the lab with curiosity. Everything was way fancier than back at Earth...

"So this is the link room. This is where we're connecting to the avatar..." ── But you and Jake didn't wanna hear it. You both were immediately attracted by the room where three big amnio tanks held the avatar bodies of the three of you. Norm quickly followed.

"Hey, welcome!" ── Max Patel, one of the scientists working for Grace, said, and immediately reached to shake hands with Jake, who took the lead. ── "Welcome to Pandora. Good to have you."

The three of you approached Norm's avatar, which was twitching a little in the water that worked like an uterus in a way, an umbilical cord connecting it to the pod it was being held.

"Damn, they got big!" ── You exclaimed in awe, already marveling the sizes of the avatars. Norm chuckled, still focused on his own avatar.

"Yeah, they fully matured on the flight out. So the proprioceptive sims seems to be working really well."

"Yeah, they've got great muscle tone. It'll take us a few hours to get them decanted, but you guys can take them out tomorrow." ── Max explained with a smile, already tapping a few things on the tank's control. Then, Max pointed at the other two tanks in the room. ── "There's yours."

Jake didn't waste any time and already wheeled closer to his brother's─ no, HIS avatar's tank, while you approached yours. You could hear the heartbeat of it through the glass, and the big blue body twitched in the tank in front of you, almost like a baby recognizing its mother's voice, but it didn't open its eyes... not yet.
