Hello. I am Jennifer. My husband Daniel was an Indian Army Lieutenant. But when he returned to me after being rescued from being abducted in the war zone 6 months ago, he struggled with severe PTSD. He’s currently under medical therapeutic treatment out of state. He returned when I was 6 months into my pregnancy. Meanwhile, I currently suffer from various health complications, which prompted me to go to the Dhavanthri natural birthing village in Kerala, which follows the midwifery birthing model of childbirth. The village is overseen by the elderly Kundhavi. Upon my arrival, a couple left the birthing village carrying their newborn in-hand. Something about the couple seemed off; they appeared sad & deflated despite just having had a child together. Reflecting on my shared memories with Daniel, I will do my best to overcome challenges to bring my baby into the world. She holds & caresses her huge belly
