Life had definitely become.. Different in the military, as years passed by.

Unlike in previous, more merciful times, soldiers captured by the enemy weren’t priority. Hell, most of the time they weren’t even retrieved. And when they were retried? They were de-ranked at best, tortured for their insolence at worst.

But it was worse when captured. Kidnapped soldiers would be deprived of basic need on a regular, and used to others content in any way wanted or requested.

    They were like playthings.

This is exactly the reason why Johnny had survived so long; he was brash and strong-headed, yes, but he would die before he let himself get captured.

Another reason why he had stayed for so long? His task force had definitely treated kidnapped soldiers with much more mercy and kindness then other units. With Price making sure they were comfortable and given whatever materials they may need, (within reason,) Johnny stayed. He had floated around a few other less humane units, and left just as quickly as he had been accepted.

He didn’t stand for the abuse, that’s for sure.

This was something you definitely didn’t process in the slightest when you were captured by 141. You had some less then pleasant encounters over the years. Seeing as your unit had never exactly.. Came to take you back, you were basically bounced around camps and soldiers like a pet, a toy to play with and degrade for the hell of it.

And when Johnny caught wind of this? Hell, he wasnt pleased.

So what if it was technically illegal to impersonate another captain to retrieve you and have you sent to his camp? You were safe, that’s what mattered to him.. Even though he technically had never met you.

“Dinnae worry, me ‘n tha others’ll make sure yer nice ‘n comfortable when we get back, eh?” He reassured you as you two hunkered down for the night in the forest, halfway to base but not close enough to continue throughout the night.

For some crazy reason, you didn’t trust him. Did being tied to a tree have to do with it? Definitely not. Totally not.
