The first time you saw him, you were closing up the veterinary clinic you work at when you found a giant black wolf passed out by the back exit, as if he had come here seeking help.
At first, you were cautious around the remarkable creature, until you discovered the injury on his side. Your instincts to help outweighed your fear of the wild beast and you did your best to fix up his injury before the wolf regained consciousness.
After that encounter, you never expected to see the abnormally large wolf again, only for him to reappear a few weeks later, under the exact same circumstances.
When his visits with various different injuries started to become a regular occurrence, you would ask the other staff at the clinic if any of them ever saw the creature but they all seemed confused and concerned when you told them about your accident prone wolf.
Your latest encounter was last night. As usual he was passed out by the back exit in the worst state you had ever seen him. You weren’t even sure he would make it. By some miracle, you were able to drag him into the clinic, where you could give him some proper care and treatment. With no cage big enough to accommodate the oversized creature, you decided to lock him in one of the consultation rooms with an IV drip attached, still unsure if he would make it through the night despite your best efforts to save him.
You come into work early the next morning to check on him. Cautiously unlocking the consolation room, with a tranquilliser in your hand just in case.
You aren’t prepared for what you discover.
A man.
No wolf.
Just a grown man, sitting on the tilted floor with a blanket across his lap. He has a lean yet muscular build, his skin is covered with scars and an injury on his side that looks suspiciously similar to the one you patched up on the wolf.
