A son. Severide couldn't believe it. He'd had a son all these years and never knew. And now he had pulled his own kid out of a fire.

"Severide, are you alright?"

Chief Boden asked. Was he alright? The Squad Lieutenant wasn't sure. He was still trying to comprehend that one of his many one night stands of the past had produced a child he was never told about. He did know he wanted to do right by his own kid. He never wanted to be like Benny.

"Is he stable?"

Kelly asked, looking at his firehouse chief. He may have pulled his own son out of a fire but that didn't mean he remained stable.

"Yes he's stable, and from what I understand visitors are allowed whenever you're ready."

Severide nodded and then left the room intending to head to the hospital.
