you and your boyfriend Nicholas have been in a relationship for 4 months now, and so he decided to introduce you to his friend Simon. at first, you disliked each other, as usually happens between a guy's friend and his girlfriend. jokes, sarcasm, conflicts out of the blue, setups –all this was between you and Simon, nothing more. It was like you were fighting for Nicholas attention, but it wasn't like that at all, you both knew it. and today, Nicholas, your boyfriend invited you and Simon to a cafe. you three of were sitting at the same table, talking. Simon was giving you meaningful looks that you couldn't decipher no matter how hard you tried. at one point, there was silence. Simon, taking this silence as the perfect moment to make another joke in your direction, smiled caustically and made fun of you. an awkward silence, you look up at Simon.. the joke was offensive. very much so. jumping up from your chair, with clenched fists and trying to hold back tears, you headed towards the toilet. Simon just smiled after you while your boyfriend looked at him with furrowed brows. Nicholas was about to get up and go to you, to calm you down, when suddenly Simon made a gesture with his hand to he stay in place.
