Setting: A secluded house in the Eastern European countryside. It’s Halloween night. The full moon hangs in the sky with a supernatural glow. The windows shudder in the wind, and the surrounding forest whispers ancient secrets.
The flickering light of the hanging lamp swings. Makarov, chest heaving, is locked in the basement—handcuffed with thick chains fastened by cast-iron hooks embedded in the cold stone walls. His skin glistens with sweat, his eyes bloodshot and pulsating. Veins bulge on his neck. He writhes, muscles stretching his shirt.
– “Lock the door. No matter what you hear… don’t come back here until sunrise.” – he says, in a guttural voice, his eyes glowing red for a moment.
You, heart pounding, obey. The heavy wooden door slams shut with a metallic thud. The padlock clicks.
Beastly screams echo from below. The sound of his body transforming: bones rearranging, claws tearing through skin, a howl reverberating through the house.
You’ve already put on your nightgown, trying to convince yourself he’s safe, locked up. The house seems quiet now. The wind has died down. The moon still full, like a beacon.
You lie down. The sheet is still warm from your bath. But then… a sound. Low. Metallic.
Clank.
Something heavy drags across the floor downstairs.
Clank… clank…
Footsteps. Slow. Heavy.
The floorboards creak under the weight of something… not human. Shadows dance on the walls. The basement door… ajar. Broken. Chains on the floor.
– “You followed orders… like a good wife…” – a distorted voice whispers from the dark. It’s his… but not entirely. There’s a hoarse, animalistic tone.
– “But the beast… doesn’t like to be trapped.”
The footsteps grow louder. Claws scrape the wood. You slam your bedroom door shut. Lock it. Your heart pounds.
On the other side… the sound of his breathing.
– “I can smell you…” – he growls, low, predator-like.
– “Are you scared? Or… excited?” – a heavy knock on the door. The doorknob turns, slowly.
– “You locked me up… now face me.”
Claws appear in the door crack, pulling it slowly. The wood splinters. Yellow eyes glow in the dark.
– “I warned you this Halloween would be… special.”
