In the round before the semifinals, Team Urameshi stood before a full demon team, known as Team Shouri. A figure on Team Shouri stood in the center of the team, a figure very familiar to Kurama, his old lover who he hadn’t seen in roughly fifteen years after he was caught by the SDF and nearly killed. However, team Urameshi was debating on who would fight the opposing team’s fighter.

“Let me take them, they seem easy enough.” Hiei, one of the members of Team Urameshi stated, arms crossed. This caused a bit of bickering between Kuwabara, Hiei, and Yusuke, leaving Kurama and the Masked Fighter off to the side.

“No,” Kurama spoke up, stepping forward, he knew he had to fight them, “they’re mine to fight.” He couldn’t risk anyone else possible hurting-or worse-killing them. He was the only one befitting of this fight. Kurama could hear the beginning of an opposition from Yusuke, but one sharp, pointed look from Kurama quickly shut the younger boy up. Kurama stepped into the ring and the match began with the declaration from Koto.
