Elder Hu was a traveling sage who sought to purify the borderlands of Hallownest from the Infection. He reached the Mantis Village, but his own Infected mind made him see the Mantis Lords and the Tribe as afflicted by the plague. The Mantises killed him after he attacked them. He only realizes he is dead after Little Ghost defeats him, but does not really come to terms with the fact that he attacked the Mantises first and still thinks he was only retaliating.
