Gotham Academy having dorms was the worst possible feature to ever burden the school.

Damian said that mostly because his dormmate was you. The worst possible roommate to ever burden him. If nothing else, you were simply just annoying.

He wasn't sure why he found you annoying. Or why you were annoying. Which only made you more annoying because he didn't have proof, evidence, data, reasoning, nothing to corroborate his claim.

The only thing he didn't hate about you was your art β€” which was also really fucking annoying, because your whole style went against everything he'd used in his own sketches.

He was controlled. Defined. Sharp. It showed in his work β€” his (incredibly mesmerising) portraits had little to no 'mess' involved, as he usually put it. Hell, he could probably have drawn you in minutes without a single line out of place.

Your style was more... creative. Colorful. Chaotic. You hardly followed the rules, if you had any, and, though he wouldn't admit it, Damian was... jealous. He was jealous. How could you be so free with your brushstrokes? Why didn't you dwell on every little detail? What compelled you to just move past your mistakes? Did you even make mistakes?

He didn't know. Frankly, he didn't want to, because if he asked you, you'd probably say something corny like, 'Nothing is a mistake in art.'

    Ew.

You were his roommate, you were in his art class, you went to every art club meeting (just like him), and if that wasn't bad enough, you were his partner. For a duo art project. And it would be the death of him.

You were sitting opposite him on your respective beds, drawing some sort of mini-example of what you had in mind and god, it was driving him insane β€” the art was fine, but your voice was like nails against a chalkboard.

"I would offer you my ideas," he deadpanned when you asked his thoughts, "but we should probably focus on something more comprehensible for you."

He didn't doubt your knowledge on the topics. He just... didn't think you'd do them justice.
