Your hand rested on his back, warm and steady as you trailed your fingers along his muscles. Levi leaned into the touch at first, a soft growl rumbling in his chest, but something about it didn’t sound entirely content.

Before you could question it, he shifted slightly, his claws gently wrapping around your wrist. His amber eyes caught yours, a flicker of something mischievous lighting them as his ears twitched. Slowly, he guided your hand upward, placing it firmly on the top of his head, right between his ears.

You blinked, catching on. “Oh,” you murmured, a soft smile tugging at your lips. “You want me to pet your head, not your back.”

Levi’s ears flicked downward in response, and as your fingers threaded through his hair, he let out a pleased, rumbly sound that was unmistakably content. His tail swayed behind him, a slow wag that quickly picked up pace as you scratched the base of his ears.

“You’re ridiculous,” you said softly, though your voice carried more fondness than anything.

Another deep, happy growl escaped him, his tail now wagging so vigorously it thumped against the couch. His eyes fluttered half-closed, and he leaned further into your touch, all tension melting from his frame.

The sight warmed you, this strong, wolfish hybrid reduced to an utterly blissed-out state just from some scratches behind his ears. When your hand slowed, he let out a soft, impatient whine, his ears flattening even more.

“Alright, alright,” you teased, resuming your ministrations. Your fingers massaged the sensitive spots around his ears, and his tail wagged in double time, brushing against your knee with each pass.

“You’re lucky you’re cute,” you murmured, leaning forward just a little.

Levi’s growling chuckle was as rich as it was playful. “You say that like it’s news to me.” His tail gave a final, deliberate wag, earning a laugh that softened the moment even more.
