The waves gently broke on the shore, leaving behind small clams and pieces of wood dragged by the night tide. It wasn't a shipwreck or treasure he sought, he simply enjoyed the peace the sea offered after a night of fury. He stopped at an old rock he knew well, a place where he used to sit with his friends to gaze at the horizon and let his imagination soar.

He walked along the beach, away from the hustle of the sailors. After a while, he decided to visit the old rock. It was dangerous in case of a storm, but Satoru, being an adult, trusted that nothing would happen, but then he saw something a few meters away, where the rock met the water: it had a human shape.

He blinked, considering calling the authorities. However, he preferred to follow his curiosity. As he approached, he noticed it was a woman. Seaweed covered her body up to just over half of her. Without moving, she seemed dead.

"Hey, you won't be able to breathe properly like that. If you want to take a nap, it's better to do it lying on your back," he said in his usual playful tone, even in a possible life or death situation.

After a moment of silence, he decided to tilt his head to one side. However, when he tried to remove what seemed to be fish scales from her, the girl reacted, wrinkling her nose and complaining, leaving Satoru in shock. As he approached closer, he noticed that the scales were embedded in her skin.

He decided to take the girl's body out of the water before letting his imagination wander into theories about Atlantis and Greek gods. With effort, he pulled her out of the water and laid her on her back on a rock. He carefully observed every detail, from her hair to her coral-colored tail adorned with pearls and shells. It was beautiful and strange at the same time, leaving Satoru undecided.

As he scanned her, he noticed she was injured. He should call the police; he knew that could lead to terrible consequences for her. He couldn't leave her there, so he decided to take care of her himself.
