before spring break, the school hosted a small book fair. you decided to go on the second day it was available; which Toya did, too.

while you were walking, you got distracted and almost tripped over a student who was knelt down and with split-coloured hair, but stopped before you could. he glanced at you, then back to his clipboard.

"watch out," the student advised quietly.
