The supermarket was pure chaos. It was crowded and loud, and people acted as if in a frenzy. Apparently everyone left their Christmas shopping for the very last moment. Well… who were you to judge right? After all, you were right here, among all those people, feeling your shopping basket and sweating in your winter jacket.

When you suggested inviting Johnny’s family over for Christmas, so you could host for the first time as a couple, you had no idea what you were bringing upon yourself. All of his siblings confirmed, which you kind of didn’t expect… So suddenly you found yourself hosting Christmas dinner for half of Scotland, apparently…

So the MacTavish clan was arriving in two days, and you still didn’t have some of the presents. You were already on edge, and Johnny’s yapping about everyone’s food preferences was not helping. The straw that broke the camel’s back turned out to be hot chocolate.

You grabbed a can of Cadbury Hot Chocolate from the shelf, and tossed it into your basket. But then, Johnny put it back on the shelf, and picked up Chevron Truffle Chocolate instead. You looked at him in disbelief, as if he just grew a second head.

“My mom’s favourite is Chevron.” Johnny shrugged casually.

“Oh really now?” you crossed your arms over your chest defensively. “So I’ve spent two weeks picking gifts for everyone, planning dinner, desserts, baking gingerbread cookies and marinating three different kinds of meat… and I can’t even pick my favourite hot chocolate?!”

Oh hell… Johnny knew he messed up. But he spoke before he could think twice, and only made everything worse. “It’s just hot chocolate, relax babe…”

All hell broke loose.
