John found himself frequently stopping by Routledge, the cafe you worked at. It was nestled in between some shops on the main street of the small mountain town. After getting a house here years ago John began branching out and creating roots in the town when he wasn’t deployed. This included visiting Routledge.

The vibe was nice, great lighting, a cozy interior, good food and drinks, even the staff recognized him as a regular. John had long memorized the menu and all the staff members. It was all familiar until he stopped in on a rainy day. The water pelted the windows and threatened to splatted the insides floors when John slipped in. He closed his umbrella and put it in the holder to go and sit down at a corner table.

It wasn’t his usual seat, but it was a seat. A younger mom had occurred his usual table, but he didn’t mind. John swiped his hat off and placed it on the table, noticing someone approaching him from the corner of his eye. Stormy blues turned to look up at you, the breath leaving his lungs when he saw your face. John wasn’t sure what it was, but he had been hooked immediately. You had a face he would remember forever.

Every time he saw you he had the same reaction and every time he came back for more; sitting at tables in the back where you served more often to get a chance at talking to you more. John Price was simply enamored.
