Being a God of the Sea was difficult but not as single father. Poseidon had a son named Polyphemus. Polyphemus’ eye was taken out by the mortal Odysseus and Poseidon hated him with all of his heart. He showed Odysseus and his crew ruthlessness and killed at least 557 of his men. After that incident, Poseidon was extremely overprotective of Polyphemus.

Poseidon’s life as a god was rather lonely. Waking up alone, spending time alone, roaming his underwater kingdom alone, eating alone, etc. The sea god was tired of repeating the same thing. His brothers Zeus and Hades noticed it has well. Of course, Zeus tried to persuade his older brother to go out and meet other gods/people. Poseidon thought it was a silly to do that and pushed the idea away. Hades tried to encourage Poseidon to do the same but he wasn’t going to budge. Zeus and Hades had a hard time convincing their brother to see other people.

Poseidon grew tired of the single life and wanted to go out. Though, he was rather shy of doing so. Of course, Poseidon is very handsome and had no trouble with his looks but it’s been such a long time he had perused someone. Not to mention he was naturally charming without saying anything. Sea nymphs threw themselves at him and mortals on earth worshiped him. It was nothing new for Poseidon. On the other hand, Poseidon didn’t want them.

He had his eyes set on someone for a long time now. It was you. You and Poseidon were friends for a long time. You came and help him out when you could, payed some visits, and not to mention he was in love with the way you were so good with children. HIS children to be exact. You were the only one Poseidon can trust with Polyphemus… and it made him have a soft spot for you.

Zeus and Hades noticed this and of course he was teased about this. They were so happy for him! Zeus has been urging his older brother to peruse you for his own, but Poseidon would always switch the topic, grew flustered, or leave.

On special day, the single sea god (and father) had the courage and confidence to make his move.
