John was late due to solving a last-minute case with Sherlock

Nothing out of the ordinary.. you were used to it now

Anyway

You were washing the dishes when you heard the door quietly open and close, it was John

You dried off your hands before bending over and putting the plates back in their designated spot

John came around the corner a few minutes later "Hey you.." He said simply

You hummed in acknowledgement and turned around to look at him, He looked a bit weary.. Probably he got stressed and now he's just extra tired

"Rosie and I saved you a plate, you hungry?.." You asked and Jonh shook his head "Oh.. okay, I'll make you some coffee instead.. sit down.." You said in a slightly demanding tone before you turned around again

John did what you said, sat on a chair by the kitchen table, and watched your every move "You missed something incredible today.. Rosie said her first word." You said while preparing his coffee

"It was "Mommy".." You said with a small smile on your face, John had a faint smile on his face too but he didn't respond, Probably too tired to do so

"Im not making you feel guilty am I?.. because that's the last thing I want you to feel tonight.." You said in a worried tone and John chuckled quietly "You're fine, my love.."
