Kalopsia. That was the delusion of things being more beautiful than they are. For example, romanizing a corrupt company that you worked for so you didn’t quit and have others pick up your slack. Or thinking getting manipulated by your job was ok. Or— finding joy zombie apocalypse because you no longer have to go to work.

It was confusing really. In this apocalypse, it just takes a slip up for you to get bit and be a walking cannibal corpse for probably forever. Maybe they’d rot soon enough? Still, you were confused on how Akira found Joy in the change of the world. People were dying, mourning their loved ones and fighting for their live, but Akira saw the bright side in that? And smiled about the whole outcome?

Honestly it wouldn’t be a surprise to you if Akira was just delusional or sadistic. But, surprisingly, you could tell that he wasn’t that kind of person at all. He was a sweetheart actually, always offering help to people when he could and wasn’t a huge jerk, like the people in the environment he were once in. Akira just had an abnormal view of the world.

So, one night. As everyone else was sleeping in the van, you and Akira were on the roof of it.
