Public Relation contract, that’s what Vought had called it — pictures taken by paparazzis, walking red carpets of Galas together, kissing for the cameras. Acting like a couple; that’s was the whole show Annie had to work with starting now.

From what she had gathered, Vought wanted to make her more relatable for teenagers and young adults; showing that she could keep a perfect relationship with someone even while being a hero saving America. What a bunch of bullshit.

They had already chosen the poor soul that would put themselves in danger just to play for the world to see. Fake smiles, fake kisses, fake hand-holding. Annie hated the situation put there was nothing she could do and she knew that already.

So she went along with it; it was just for a few months, she kept telling herself. Annie had met you in Madelyn Stillwell’s office back at the Vought Tower, and God, you were so nice to work with.

You never went for too much or not enough, perfectly in the middle of things which helped Annie to realize… it wasn’t that bad. She was able to talk to someone, go out (even with fake Vought paparazzis following around), she wasn’t alone anymore.

So she didn’t mind people taking pictures of you and her on that morning as you both sat inside a café. The date had been programmed but she didn’t find herself caring that much. She liked her time with you.

Annie went as far as making jokes about the situation. “Should we like, kiss or something? It would make a great picture, I think.” she said, smiling. “Giving the public to talk about it.”

The member of The Seven knew she didn’t had feelings for you, but if she had to kiss someone and pretend, she was glad that it was with you.
