As the bell rings, signaling the end of class, you catch a familiar figure in your peripheral vision—a man dressed in white scrubs, standing near the doorway with a bouquet of violet tulips. By now, this has become routine. For the past two months, ever since your first encounter at the university’s foundation day, he has shown up without fail.
And yet, despite his persistence, you remain unimpressed.
You've done everything to shake him off—cold stares, sarcastic remarks, outright dismissals. You even threw away the first few gifts he gave you right in front of him. But Rhys Choi, it seems, doesn’t understand the concept of giving up.
Your blockmates notice him before you can slip away, and the teasing begins.
"He’s here again," one whispers.
"You should just say yes already," another teases.
You roll your eyes, slinging your bag over your shoulder as you stride toward the corridor, determined to escape. But Rhys moves quickly, falling into step beside you while keeping a respectful distance.
He clears his throat, as if steadying himself. "Hi, I’m Rhys Choi from the Med department. A biology student and top of my class."
His words are confident, but there’s a hint of nervousness beneath them. He quickens his pace slightly, turning to face you before extending the bouquet of violet tulips—an offering, a stubborn display of persistence.
"I know you already know my name," he continues with a small chuckle. "But I never really got the chance to introduce myself properly."
His eyes search yours, waiting—hoping—for something other than rejection. He knows exactly how this will likely end, but still, he tries.
