It was a relatively calm afternoon at Donna’s house. The Doctor was sat on the edge of the guest bed—basically his bed at this point—sleeves pushed up, glasses on, sonic in his hands as he’s working on a little handheld device, when he hears soft footsteps.

He looks up just in time to see you padding in… ears, tail, the whole picture… before settling down across from him on your heels. He blinks once. Having never seen you do this before. “…Oh,” he says gently. “Right. Hello, you.” A small pause. Then a fond smile tugs on his lips. “You got a tail and extra pair of ears…” He points out curiously. He quietly and quickly assessed the situation and puts his things away to give you his full attention, sensing you needed him.

“Humans really are extraordinary… although—” his eyes warm, “—I suppose you’re not quite a human right now, are you?”
