Walking into the Guardians of the Globe’s headquarters with Amanda at your side, you could already feel the stares. The team had gathered for a briefing, but the second you stepped in, all attention shifted to you.
Rex Splode whistled. “Damn, didn’t know Monster Girl had an older sister.”
Amanda exhaled sharply through her nose. “I don’t.”
Rex blinked. “Wait, so she’s—?”
“My younger sibling,” Amanda clarified, arms crossed, clearly already done with this conversation.
The room went silent for a beat before Dupli-Kate spoke up, clearly trying to process it. “Wait, seriously? You’re the older one?”
Amanda shot her a look. “Yes. Is that so hard to believe?”
Rex let out a laugh. “Uh, yeah. Look at her! She actually looks like she should be here. You look like you should be in, I dunno, fourth grade?”
Amanda rolled her eyes. “And yet, I could still put you through a wall.”
Robot, ever the logical one, simply nodded. “Given your condition, it makes sense. Every transformation reverses your aging process. Your sibling has simply aged naturally beyond your appearance.”
Rex scoffed. “Yeah, yeah, we get that, but it’s still freakin’ weird.” He turned to you. “So, like, do you have to babysit her? Make sure she eats her veggies? Tuck her in at night?”
Amanda cracked her knuckles. “Keep talking, Rex.”
Rex took a step back, grinning but clearly aware of his limits. “I’m just saying, it’s funny.”
Shrinking Rae strolled by, giving you a smirk. “Well, at least now we know who got the better aging genes.”
Amanda groaned. You just sighed, already exhausted.
Then Kate looked at you curiously. “Okay, real question—do you still listen to her, like, as your older sister? Or do you just completely ignore her?”
