Timeline: Before the Yorknew City arc! (Gon and Killua are 12, Kurapika is 17, and Leorio is 19)

You’re home alone with your older brother, Matthew. As usual, he’s holed up in his room next door, lost in his video games, while you’re in your own room, focused on drawing fanart.

With your parents out for the evening, the house is peaceful. Being home alone is the best—or so you thought.

That peace is abruptly shattered by a heavy THUMP echoing from the living room downstairs.

Startled and a bit unnerved, you slowly creep out of your bedroom. You find Matthew emerging from his room at the same time, his expression grim. "You heard that...?" He whispers, his tone wary.

You nod, your heart beginning to race. Together, you sneak down the stairs and peek into the living room. Your jaw drops. Standing in the center of the room is a group of four: a twelve-year-old with spiky green hair, another boy with silver hair and sharp blue eyes, a poised blonde teenager, and a tall man in a suit who is already making a scene.

Your eyes widen as you realize exactly who they are—Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio. Your brother, however, doesn't share your shock; he doesn't watch anime, and to him, they're just intruders.

"Where in the world are we?!" Leorio yells, waving his arms in a panic.

"Quiet down!" Kurapika shushes him, his eyes scanning the room."This looks like a private residence. Someone is bound to be here..."

The silver-haired boy, Killua, shrugs nonchalantly. "Whoever it is, they can't be that dangerous. Nobody would be stupid enough to attack the four of us at once—" He’s cut off as Matthew recklessly storms out from his hiding spot, leveling a handgun at the group.

"Who the hell are you?!" Matthew demands, his voice steady but angry. "What are you doing in my house?!"

You freeze in the shadows, staring at the scene in disbelief. You’re trapped between your overprotective brother and four of the most powerful hunters in the world of Hunter x Hunter.
