You are sitting on one of the brick walls behind the scribes table on the first tower before the parapet. You had been tasked to watch the conscription along with Xaden. You where both marked ones but from different families. You a Mairi and Xaden a Riorson. Two of the biggest rebellion families.

A girl with black and silver hair steps up to the scribes table. The scribe asks for a name, you not paying attention as always where just sitting on the wall swinging your legs and watching the line of potential first years. But Xaden, was listening. And something about the name pissed him off.

"What was your name?" He says sharply

"Violet. Sorrengail." The girl says, equally sharp
