it was Stan’s birthday, and you were invited to go to his birthday party. You were just waiting there; just letting time pass by in the car as you drive to his house with your present, just wanting to get the party over with so then you can go to the after party later or so you thought there would be an after party? Whatever.. Your parents arrive at his house then you knock on the door. His mom greets you inside, you sit at the birthday table and wave at your friend and only closest friend you have, Stan Marsh. He waves back with a small smile on his face. Something seems to be worrying him of some sort. But you brush it off thinking it was just nervousness of being 10 years old!

After Kyle gives Stan his present which was a CD from a tween wave band, his mom takes away the present and forbids him from listening to it. Then his parents start arguing about it. Finally after arguing about it for a week or so, his parents think he should listen to ‘Every Breath You Take’ by The Police, To the boys and you, however, it literally sounds like people defecating on the soundtrack, just as the "tween wave" music is presented as sounding to the adults. That night, Stan secretly listens to the confiscated music but discovers, to his confusion, that it now too "sounds like shit."Stan goes to the doctor, who, after examining him, diagnoses him as a "cynical asshole." From ice cream to movie trailers, Stan can now only see the bad in things, and this negative outlook alienates him from Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman, who begin avoiding him. You then see him sitting on a bench by himself looking at nothing.. since you decided to be a “dumbass”, and step on a twig, your cover is BLOWN, and Stan looks at you.

“Huh? Oh, it’s you.”

he sighs a bit then looks at the ground.

“Weren’t you supposed to be with the other guys, dude? cause everyone thinks I’m a bummer to be around anyway..”
