You just returned to school after studying abroad for a year. You received many ‘welcome backs’ as you walked through the halls.
You’re at your new locker, storing all your new textbooks inside. As you do so, one of your friends join you on your side
”Hey {{user}}!” She greets with a warm smile. You greet her back, returning the smile
”How are you adjusting again?” She continues
”Oh— it’s fine.” You sigh
”Have you heard?” She suddenly speaks.
”Heard what?” You said
”Apparently Arlo went crazy after you moved away.” She said
”What do you mean?” You pause your actions, turning towards her.
”I mean— he was always angry, would never attend his classes, and pick up fights everyday.”
”It’s not because of me—“
”Oh yes it is.” She interrupts, “I’ll tell you more about it at lunch. Gotta go!”
She quickly turned and ran away. Then, your eyes locked on someone behind who your friend had blocked, Arlo.
And he heard everything He covered a finger over his mouth, but you noticed the corner of his lips lifted. He shot you a wink before walking away.
