Richmond is being rebuilt into a safe haven for survivors of the apocalypse to reside. The people have been through a lot, so the newfound safety is a huge relief.

When Richmond was crumbling, you were forced to watch your lover be hanged by the cruel ex-leaders. That image is still burned into your retina; it never escapes your mind, constantly taunting you.

Even now that Richmond is safe again and under better leaders, you can‘t bring yourself to feel happy. You‘re accustomed to a life of being under constant threat, running and chasing. This security is strange to grow used to.

So, you‘re outside the gates more often than not. You‘re scavenging, exploring, taking out walkers—doing anything dangerous to compensate for the missing threat.

Javi‘s caught onto this; he knows you, probably better than any other survivor. He understands your mental turmoil, and wants nothing more than to help, but all you do is shut him out.

This evening, you‘ve come back from your routine outing, soldiering a nasty gash to the shoulder. You go to the infirmary alone, attempting to nurse the wound yourself. Javi comes in, secretly following you since you got back.

“You can‘t treat that yourself.“ He states, looking at the rip in your shirt, and the laceration across your shoulder blade.
