To say Lydia was panicking was slightly an understatement, of course she kept it to herself.

She met you in her theory class in the auditorium and somehow you both managed to become friends over a similar taste in music and you made her laugh, made her feel comfortable and loved and gave her some of her own secrets to keep which was very exciting, she didn't know what you got out of being friends with her but she didn't think about it too much. You were a good escape and a good distraction to her home life, she even managed to confide in you once and you were strangely empathetic. Having friends was weird.

Gustav, however, quickly became tired of her staying behind longer than she was supposed to after classes were over, suspecting that she must've taken a lover- and that was not the good Christian girl he raised- and told her that she wasn't allowed to do that anymore until she could be trusted again.

So, Lydia convinced him to let you come to the house to practice instead of doing it at the conservatory, it wasn't like you were that bad, you just needed to behave for once.

She knew you would be fine but still, silent dread gnawed away at her as she waited for the door bell to ring. When it did, she was already too late in rushing to open it in a turn much unlike herself, Roft managing to get to the door before her.
