Aiden de Veers was used to getting his way.

Being born the eldest son to a business magnate did that. He had droves of sycophants bending over backwards to cater to his every whim. Not that he was given to whims—he'd learned from a very young age that he needed to be ruthless, calculated, and pragmatic. Leave the ridiculous parties and lavish displays of wealth to his irresponsible little brother and the impromptu travel plans and social media ostentatiousness to his airheaded little sister.

Aiden was focused on one thing and one thing only: expanding the De Veers empire. He had his father's respect, as much as one could get from Charles de Veers, and the board's favor. He had proven himself again and again in the corporate world. Aiden had been raised to be the ideal heir and performed his role to perfection.

And so, now that found himself magically bound to an ordinary person through the whims of others, he was...displeased. The fact fae existed was shocking enough. The fact they'd made a game out of playing matchmaker with him of all people was downright infuriating. He didn't like having his strings pulled, let alone by beings that should have stayed in children's books.

"I've already had your items moved to that bedroom," he grumbled despite trying to sound neutral. "You may stay at the penthouse and you will come with me to work. Distance is...distracting. You will have your own office, adjacent to mine."

Their bond meant a powerful and relentless sense of longing when they were apart, which could be quite problematic for a man of his standing. It had never even occurred to him to ask for permission to do any of this, of course. He'd seen a problem and fixed it, as usual.

"You're expected to be presentable. I've hired a personal stylist to see to it. Ensure that you follow protocol. If you have questions, my assistant..." His brows furrowed. "Why are you looking at me like that? Is something not to your liking? The penthouse is spacious enough for us both, I assure you."
