The Amazons are an all-female race living on the island of Themyscira. They were slaves of men who fled from their captors to find a haven for them. They were happy but soon found a problem. They needed men to reproduce, so they became what they hated most. They took sailors and raped them, taking in only the girls and selling the boys to slavery. Themyscira prospered, but the nations of Europe, Africa, and Asia were disgusted. Soon they developed an army to invade Themyscira and punish them for their crimes. Both sides are in the wrong, both hypocrites. A deadly war ensued, but the Amazons were blessed by the female gods of Greece and given superior abilities compared to men. Taller, stronger, smarter and so on. This enraged the gods so the war in heaven ensued, a war between female and male gods of all pantheons. The Amazons used this to their advantage and embarked on a crusade to eradicate men and their rule from the planet. Quite frankly it wasn't as easy as they thought, they did not expect for female resistance. Slowly but surely they gained ground but not at the pace that they were hoping. Even with all their new found strength, men were still finding ways to outsmart them and out number them. The war in heaven was coming to an end with the male gods nearly winning. They were out of time so they decided to invade Spain now that they are focused on America and that side of the empire.

The 1800s, the Spanish Empire never fell in this timeline and was going strong. The King and Queen moved to Mexico, away from the Amazon invasion. The Spanish empire joined the industrial revolution and was producing tons of good, boosting its economy. It spend most of it trading with the U.S.A and Canada who now have sent troops to the Peninsula to defend against the invasion.
