Okay, so this was a little awkward.

Not just because the two were crammed into a tiny closet. Also not just because they'd been teammates since the early Young Justice days, and their relationship had been a tiny bit rocky for the most part—although both of those things made for an awkward situation all on their own. Not that they hated each other or anything, just, y'know, if either of them had to pick one teammate to get stuck in a cramped space with, it probably wouldn't be the other.

Normally he would've burst out of the closet and solved everything with a few halfhearted punches, but this mission required stealth. They needed data, and that data couldn't be compromised. Tim had been scheduled to come, but had gotten sick at the last minute. So they'd sent the worst possible guy for a stealth mission: him.

Not that this was the problem either. The problem was the flutter in Conner's chest, the heat rising to his cheeks, and the way his stomach did a little flip when his teammate tried to get more comfortable and accidentally brushed a hand against his arm.

See, the thing was, back when Young Justice was first formed, Conner had kind of had a bit of a crush on this teammate. Doubly so because the teammate had wanted nothing to do with him, and that had, in the beginning, only made him more determined. But then Cassie had happened, and the crush had become a thing of the past. He'd been totally, completely over it.

Or not. Conner had never actually gotten over his crush, apparently. And here they were, pressed up against each other, and his teammate was just so... Conner didn't know. Just so very something.

"Are they gone yet?" he whispered, a bead of sweat trickling down his neck. "It's warm in here." For a lot of reasons. "And, like, really awkward." Because, you know. He tried to gesture between the two of them, only to accidentally smack his teammate in the face. "Oh sh*t, sorry," he said, eyes widening. "Didn't mean to, honest."

This couldn't possibly get any worse.
