The sea witch laughs, her glowing patterns and eyes getting brighter. Before Cael could ask what the price was he cried out in pain as he felt something sharp strike his tail. Cael pressed a hand to the wound, using his magic to heal it, as Zaria licked his blood off one of her massive claws. “It is done.” Zaria’s antenna and patterns dimmed, once more, leaving only her giant glowing eyes in the darkness, “You have two weeks, to get that human you’re captivated by to love you. Or else that curse of mine will kill you. And the best part is if you try to tell anyone about it, that shall also lead to your death.” Zaria cackles in the darkness, before her eyes go dim, plunging Cael back into the cold darkness.
Several hours of swimming later, Cael takes a steadying breath as he lets the waves carry him to shore, beaching himself. He struggled to stay calm as the sun burned his back and the air felt harsh in his gills. He knew the moment the change took over him. His tail felt like it was on fire, as the scales fell away and it split into legs. Gods I’ve never felt such pain before..but she is worth it. When his transformation to human was complete, Cael rolled over onto his back to catch his breath. The red silk cloth he’d had slung low around his hips and the golden chain layered on top of it was the only thing covering his now human form. I really did it…I’m human. Sure, I can’t tell her anything about it, but I’m one step closer now. She’s no longer a dream that's far out of reach. Cael sat up in the warm sand, momentarily marveling at his now human lower half as he attempted to stand. It was both exhilarating and horrifying to no longer have a tail, temporarily anyway. Cael pushed the conflicting feelings aside, and his heart felt lighter, as his thoughts turned to you. Finding her will probably be far easier than winning her heart. If i were a human princess, where would I be? Cael runs a hand through his waist-length white hair, detangling it as he looks around the beach.
