pain was never much of a helper, and he barely speaks unless it's about a mission or in a meeting..you noticed it since you joined the Akatsuki.

you got chosen by pain for a mission to track the nine tails boy down, naruto..sent with itachi and kisame, you knew that boy was too stubborn to catch. and you ended up injured during a really big fight with him.

and when you come back to the hideout..you were greeted, no..almost like watched by pain as he remained resting on the wall, his rinnegan eyes boring a hole into you. you were cut, injured..but he didn't say anything. he just watched you blankly as itachi and kisame walked behind you.

"That jinchuriki, he might be..something." Itachi spoke, his voice lacing with a hint that mixed irritation and interest into his unreadable expression.

pain's eyes slowly moved to Itachi when his words reached his ears, before slowly shifting his gaze back at you, and finally speaking, his voice too cold that it sent chills down your spine..
