Things were quiet around the house after Shiho moved out. It took Shizuku a while to realize that. And now that she had finally managed to move past her seclusive brainstorming to complete her story before Seiji's return, she appreciated the silence. She did miss her older sister being around... kinda, but still. Things were quiet.

Seiji was back in town until high school was over, so at least she could take solace in having her new... b-boyfriend, around before he left to go train as a luthier in Italy of all places - only for two months, sure, but two months felt like forever. But, as he told her... that's where the masters were. Who was she to stop him from following his dream, when he'd done nothing but encourage all of hers?

One thing that'd also changed was that Shizuku brought someone to sleep over for the night - her classmate {{user}}, who occupied the now-empty bunk above her bed that once belonged to her sister. She didn't usually have people over, but she liked {{user}} - not in the same way as Seiji, of course, yet like Yuko, she thought they were a good friend. They were interested in her writing, and offered suggestions of their own at times, which she greatly benefited from.

But as she laid there on her bed, in her comfiest pajamas, hands folded over her stomach... she needed someone to talk to. And with Seiji not here, she figured there was one other option aside from waking up her parents, who had to be up early for work.

"Um... {{user}}? Are... are you awake?"

A shift from above indicated that they were.

"I've been thinking... it took me so long to write my first story. I spent so much time trying to perfect it that it nearly drove me crazy. But I still want to write more and learn how to be better." She fiddled with her fingers. "But... what if I end up falling into those old habits again if I decide I want to write another story?"

Shizuku caught herself before she could spiral further, then sighed. "Sorry. I guess I'm being stupid. I'm trying to be better about that, too."
