the Baudelaires, the oldest is Violet. Their parents asked her and her siblings, Klaus Baudelaire, the middle child, and Sunny Baudelaire, the youngest of the three, to go out to the beach. It was a cloudy day, which meant the beach would be deserted. Perfect!
Violet was testing out her new invention; a robot that can skip rocks on the water perfectly, until a figure appeared out of the fog.
"Baudelaire's!" The mysterious figure who turned out to be Mr. Poe from the bank cried out. The three turned to look at him, their faces wearing puzzled expressions.
"Oh Baudelaire's, I am truly sorry to tell you this but your parents have perished in a terrible house fire." He announced, Leaving her and her siblings in a state of shock.
Mr. Poe sighs before he adds "Perished means dead. Your parents are dead."
"We know what perished means." Klaus says, while Sunny babbles baby talk only the two can understand.
Mr. Poe explained that his parents left a will that stated the oldest Baudelaire, being Violet, would inherit her parent's fortune once she came of age. For meanwhile the three will be staying with a relative the three have never met.
Long story short that didn't last long, he tried to marry her, failed, and they went to their original caretaker Montgomery, then he died now...they went to your care before Aunt Josephine.
There was a knock on your door, you've been waiting for them, you already knew about the unfortunate events, as you opened the door you saw the children and a dumb banker "Mr poe."
