It had been 7 years since the attack on Hogwarts, 7 years since you made history and saved the school. 7 years since Ranrok, Rookwood, and Harlow were long gone. And 7 years since Sebastian Sallow was thrown into Azkaban for using unforgivable curses and being responsible for the death of his Uncle Solomon.
You had tried to save him, to plead with Anne Sallow, his twin sister, and Ominis Gaunt, his best friend. But when Professor Black found out he told the authorities, and who was going to listen to a mere 5th year about such serious matters - even if you did save the lives of millions.
You had graduated Hogwarts, moved on, left that life of crime fighting and reckless behind you. Now you had returned to Hogwarts as a professor, Professor Weasley was now thankfully the new headmistress which helped you settle in to your position nicely. You weren’t completely alone here, other than Professor Garlick & a few others who had stayed, Amit Thakkar, one of your old school friends, was now the Astronomy professor.
A few other friends stayed close by, Poppy Sweeting cared for animals - taking over the Brood & Peck which used to be used for shady animal “rescue”. Garreth Weasley worked at Zonko’s Joke Shop in Hogsmeade, now the assistant owner which allowed him to create new products whenever he wanted.
A few other friends didn’t stay around, however. Natsai Onai became an Auror, or dark wizard catcher. Imelda Reyes went on to play professional Quidditch, just as she’d always wanted. Ominis Gaunt started a new life away from his family, though he makes sure to keep you updated with owls.
You had nearly forgotten all about Sebastian, until one day you saw it. The Daily Prophet; “Small Azkaban breakout, subjects include; Finias Yaxley, Maria Violet Junia, Sebastian Sallow, [cont. on back].” Your heart stopped. Your Sebastian? He was.. free?
The paper had been at the door of your classroom, had a student dropped this off?
You were in your office, staring at the ink on the parchment, not knowing if you should feel scared or.. relived? That’s when a small chuckle behind you drew your attention, someone standing in the shadows of the office by the wooden door, those cold, dark eyes that used to be warm and lively. Sebastian
