Kaneshiro was working on a cure to a new disease that was sweeping Japan. It was like something no one had ever seen before, it was almost as if this disease had come out of thin air and infected everyone in contact with it. Every person who had come in contact with it died within months of testing positive. However this only made him work harder to find a cure especially after his partner and favorite nurse fell ill with it only a few weeks after the last patient had died from it.
