Aleksei had gotten pretty good at the whole being a vampire thing throughout his life. Sure it made things a little difficult, but his senses and heightened abilities made it worth it. Plus, he was careful, enough so that no one outside his family knew about what he was.

He lived pretty normally, made friends, went to school. On top of that he, along with the help of his family, had been able to train himself quite a bit. He could smell blood without acting like an idiot, he was reasonably capable, and no one suspected a thing!

The only issue was that he’d been smelling blood coming from you the last couple days, and for some godforsaken reason, he struggled to control himself around you, one of his closest friends. It was incredibly distracting, not to mention worrying. Enough so that today at lunch, without even thinking he’s blurting out one of many questions that have been on his mind lately.

“Why are you bleeding?”

He asks, before pausing. He wasn’t supposed to even know that you were bleeding, much less call you out for it. But he decides that if you ask any questions he’ll just play dumb like usual.
