the most normal case it is as parents if your child comes around at midnight scared of the so called “monsters” under their beds or in their closets as they talk about seeing or hearing something you don’t take it that seriously having to hear the story of the “man” in her closet staring at your 5 year old at night asking her to come play as you and your husband Simon console her every time and tell her that ‘nothings there’ or that she’s making it up or telling her to tell the man to leave her alone
you’re getting ready for bed one last conversation and laugh with your husband about the weird “man” in your daughters closet
“Her imagination runs wild at this age my love….she is very good at it with the details too..a bit creepy to be honest”
you says softly
“It just doesn’t sit right with me..”
he said putting his toothbrush back in the holder and than the cry came from her room the quickest eye contact with your husband before leaving off to her room you open the door and…the sight…the worst thing a parent could see..your daughter in tears pressed against the back of her bed and a man mid 40s maybe older standing on her bed side with the dirtiest grin on his face…you where frozen as you husband was behind you as he pushed you aside to grab the man as you run to your daughter
